Darleta Hurt - Founder
Darleta graduated from West Liberty State University in 2004 with an Associates of Science Degree in the Science of Dental Hygiene. After graduating Ms. Hurt became a Registered Dental Hygienist certified in local anesthesia and began her practice in general dentistry and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources as an Oral Health Educator for rural areas of West Virginia. She worked as a liaison for the Winding Roads Health Consortium to provide access to health care for the rural areas of the state. She has volunteered with Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile and Christian medical mission groups in both China and Nicaragua. She is also a member of the Christian Dental Society. In 2004, she started working on oral health projects with Love in Action ministries, her love for Nicaragua grew. She had the opportunity to live in the country in 2012 to study the language and the culture. She sees a great need for access to oral care for the underserved in remote areas of Nicaragua and with her experience and familiarity of the country seeks to make Love, Nicaragua a success.

Charles Short Jr.
Charles Short graduated from Hanover College in 1980 with a degree in mathematics and education. Upon graduation he taught math at Madison High School in Madison, Indiana until 1986 when he moved with his family to Bloomington, Indiana. From that point on Mr. Short has been a building contractor, and now owns several businesses including an industrial supply business and an oil change business. He and his wife have made several trips to Nicaragua to participate in medical missions. He sees a real need there for medical care and would like to help to fulfill that need.

Danielle Whited
Danielle Whited graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Focus in Product Design for International Development and a minor in Urban Studies and Planning. While at MIT, Ms. Whited performed research with MIT's DLab, run by Amy Smith, on several design projects for the developing world from motorized wheelchair design for the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya to the Spiral Pine Needle Cookstove design for Avani in Uttrakand, India; the later of which was featured as one of twenty top international development designs at the USAID's 2010 Science and Technology Fair at the United Nations General Assembly. After graduating from MIT in June 2011, Ms. Whited spent three months in East Asia, teaching science and engineering topics to high school and university students in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Ms. Whited now lives in London and works as a Technology Consulting Analyst in IT Strategy and Transformation for AppNexus. She is a member of Engineers Without Borders and is looking forward to sharing her experiences knowledge to help make Love, Nicaragua a success.

Rachel Snead
Rachel Snead graduated from James Madison University in 2006 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010 with a Master's of Business Administration in Finance. Mrs. Snead is Co-Chair of the Give Committee, a member of the Advisory Council, and past Lead Ambassador for the United Way's Women's Leadership Council, which gives, advocates, and volunteers for early childhood education. As a health and education advocate, Mrs. Snead is honored to be part of the Love, Nicaragua team. Mrs. Snead manages the organization's finances and website.
